The real question In my opinion is Should Yahoo do it? I mean really take a look at it asset for asset on the webmarket. What does microsoft have thats better than yahoo.

• Yahoo’s Email platform is better,  its been that way for years.
• Yahoo’s search was the initial search until Google pwned that devision of the web industry. What is a Microsoft search worth. not my bandwidth thats what.
• Yahoo Java Game rooms are solid. Yahoo pool is the shiznit i will pwn you if you play me. ph34r my l33t gaming skilliusm.

At the end of the day i figure Its gonna be the stock holders who make the decision to sell. If enough votes are in for the option to sell then It could happen. But i think yahoo just needs to focus on their “focus” and they would be better off keeping the company from the grip of the evil Microsoft empire.

Seems papa sony called the ps3 fat and its now on a diet with a time line slated to end in autumn to reveal the ultimate physique while still being able to manage them heavy processing demanding graphics. The slim version of the ps3 will definitely make a fuss on the market I’m sure. Lots of people will be unloading the bulky versions at lower prices i’m sure (so thats an opportunity for second hand console buyers). Sony always does this which kinds of irks me. Why not just get it right the first time. If your gonna make a special edition Console in commemoration of a game thats cool but the whole big one slim one thing is getting old. This one was done with the sony ps1, sony psp, sony ps2 and now they do it for the ps3 and This’ll probably happen through to the ps 20. Stop ripping people off there’s generally no upgrades of any significance to warrant the device.

edit: Does any one even own a ps3 though… I know kevin rose got one from sony cause i mean he’s the boss yknow.. diggnation and all. and He said he’s only played it a few times in one of em recent shows.. cant remember the episode number. Alex on the other hand I’m not so sure about cause he’s a game head. Ps3 for the lose man.

Probably something that’ll get mobile handset application of the year. Easily. Skyfire is a web browser, which doesn’t limit your to mobile sites but allows you to browse desktop rendered websites as well. Which isn’t anything that ground breaking as this has been happening for years now.

If it was just the desktop browsing then i wouldn’t be writing about sky fire right? Thats right Skyfire takes the desktop browsing on a mobile handset a bit further. It allows flash execution / rendering, java processing and so on. What does this mean in english? it means youtube from your cell phone via the browser. It means google maps on your cell phone via the browser and not a dedicated app which would take up space for youtube only. and another for google maps only. 1 browser to bridge everything.

I would assume they are using the webkit engine as the base of the browser. How they allow for flash and java processing I’m not as yet certain.

They’re currently doing private beta testing to sign up head over to skyfire beta signup. Sadly You’ve gotta have a us phone number to get in which blows Cauase i’m in the tropics but i do meet the other requirements.. anyway if its available to you sign up get it and comment so i can know how it really handles the web.

I know, i know how did this happen is what your thinking. Well I know I am. Being a proud owner of an htc tytn and having traverse the htc brand from the days of the qtek 9090 / htc blue angel. The new number 1 and 2 is reportedly Motorola and Samsung. The Q and the Black Jack has apparently taken the market by storm and propelled both companies to the top.

Samsung seems to be doing really big things right now as their new handset got leaked and it’s a smart move. It seems they are now working with the

1. iphone form factor which the world has accepted with open arms
2. windows mobile which everybody is used to

On the features side of things theres:

4. 5 megapixel camera
5. up tto a whopping 8gb micro sd card support
6. wifi
7. bluetooth

The device is slated to be released in September 2008.

While making my rounds i stumbled on this lil guy emergexpo.com. An event slated for february 2n’d 2008. Where they allow companies which are backed by highly functional websites to setup a booth to showcase their online products to potential customers. Very nice. finallly a break for the webmasters out there tryign their best to market to the general public but cant afford the reach of the giants out there that control the media. Okay while browsing last night i came acrros the most bad ass browser script I have ever seen. Its pretty much useless but that does not take away fromt he coolness/wowfactor.

make a google image search. Search for something nice. hiedi klum, boob or whatever you wanna see. when you see all the images copy and paste the following code:

Alright, I haven’t made a blog entry in quite some time, and I realize that neither have the other writers. What happen nothing new happen in technology for the past 2 months? What about the Phenom debate? Intel’s announcements? AMD-ATI vs Nvidia… cho anyway

This post though after my 2 month sabbatical is aimed at ISPs. All of us have to go through them… well if it wasn’t for them none of us would have access to the internet would we? But how does your ISP treat you really? Well I can talk from a Jamaican perspective and say that we are treated like the extreme bottom of the pile people. Lots of our isp’s (especially the two major ones locally) dont even spend half the time or effort in developing solutions as they should, for the average subscriber.  But why dont they? I guess the regular average joe is important, only businesses require any amount of special service.

I write this because currently my ISP whom shall remain nameless has refused to repair my internet service which is now down for in excess of a month (or was it 2). What geek can really survive without the information available on the internet? I cant think of even one. I’ve been forced to live on other people’s internet connections and public wifi spots etcetera. And to add insult to injury my same ISP had the balls to send me a bill for last month’s internet usage (i think i managed to download about 8 mb worth of information last month… I normally do that in a matter of minutes). So of course the next logical choice would be to simply switch ISP’s, go to somebody who will at least show me some level of respect, right?

Well the only other choice I have advertises that they are the top alternative BUT they are not available in my area. In order to get their service I will have to wait until next year June or thereabout, what is the point of an islandwide advertising campain when your service is only available in one (small) part of the island? This is the BS which the average joe has to go through. So what do I do in the meantime? Now you all understand my predicament. I am now one of the weakest people in my mmo guild, i havent gotten to properly update my anime in a while and or my music library.

The only way I can assume I will get internet service sooner than next year June is if i can manage to somehow convince all the big businesses to open offices where I live and force some form of action… *sigh* anyway i’m tired, i have work to do and i cant bother wasting my time typing about people who dont even have enough time to fix a simple problem for me however I do hope that they remember, the businesses of tomorrow are started by the same average joes that are getting the shitty service today.

People make websites for the sole purpose of internet revenue right. now along comes these guys adblockplus to destroy the internet revenue model. Basically its a firefox extension that eradicates all ads on a webpage and its apparently really simple to use. Now I may be putting a knife to geekelixir’s neck bu w/e. In all honesty user’s gotta understand that ads pay the bills. and publishers gotta also understand that they cant go overboard witht he ads.. Dont push too much things in visitors faces.

Lol.. This is kinda funny. Palm trashes the foleo like engadget suggested. For more on the foleo See a previous post. I wonder if this’ll be a wake up call for em.. Like seriously Stop building crap. I’ve owned a treo 600 n from that experience I’ll never ever buy a palm device. Bought a windows mobile it was like i moved up like George and weezy. They need to re-think their product line and definitely work on the operating system.
