Looking back at it if it wasn’t for suse maybe i wouldn’t have delved into linux at all. Back then i was nothing but a little grasshopper annoying the shit out of more advances linux users such as bartergeek, and enigmatic thoughts and a few others from a forum i once used to visit.. (truth be told i owe a lot to that community.. but i still do despise the forum… lazy bastards.. but another time for that). Anyway Yatta introduced me to suse and even traveled into the “slums” of portmore to drop off the suse dvd’s So i could do my install. After that and a few more nagging questions directed to enigmatic thoughts I was up and running and getting used to using suse, its rpm package management system (yast) and linux in general. I”m capable of using linux as my host operating system and did so for more than 3 years.. with ubuntu though.. I jumped ship from suse when ubuntu was in its breezy badger state and traversed all the way to hardy herron. So seeing this opensuse 11 release just makes me feel to install it for the fun of it.. but why bother when there are screenshots to look at.

p.s did you see me talkign on my old blogger blog about how kde rawwwks.. wtf was i thinking.. i never really exprienced anything other than kde with suse though.. as its a kde distro.. though gnome could be installed i just wasn’t interested.

Thought its not in an extremely cool fashion. Miphone did make engadget mobile today in regards to the iphone being supported on their network. they are infact aware that miphone has a cdma network But I’m sure they didn’t know of the upcoming Gsm Platform which they plan to move to. I even heard they plan to skip Edge and go straight to 3g (from an inside source). Short post yes.. but i just thought it was kinda cool that miphone made engadget.. I figure its in relation to the name of the company and the product. miphone..iphone.. gimicky name.

Has anyone noticed that when they do a google search they no longer see the old google Capital ‘G’ instead we get a blue common ‘g’ which resemles the ‘g’ in the word geek as written on the ‘geekelixir’ banner?. sup with that. it really grinds my gears for some reason.. what other changes you got for me google.. mhmm.. what else is there in the bag of changes… you touch the google search and i’ll kill you were you stand in the digital world you hear me you search engine giant… Know that my digital sling shot is is strong and i will bust a cap in a ‘G’oliath if i must.

Yeah.. thats how it is, at leasts thats what the voice from the shadows said. This november there should be futuristic technology in all tmobile shops. The htc make of android will be released around the holiday season. Its not gonna be easy for android to break into the market in my opinion. It certainly does have alot of hype surrounding it but thats never enough. So far with the videos we’ve seen you can tell that the browsing experiences is truely amazing seeing that they’ve utilized webkit (same thing thats on the iphone). Thing is How will android (the brand new baby os in the market) stand up to the windows mobile giant. We’ve seen balmer say he’s not afraid, and the symbian guys aren’t impressed either. How will the android handset sales figures look in comparison to Windows mobile handset sales at any tmobile store that carries both. I wish android the best of luck. The geeksphere is expanding but I’m not sure its big enough to propel it to number 1 as quickly as the Iphone did.

Also a quick little extra Tmobile should have 3G data services up and running by the android release as well So That’ll be really sweet.

And last thing. What i hope will happen is the number of windows mobile handsets that get converted to android handset will escalate. and the hardware vendors will think.. Why the hell am I paying licensing for windows mobile when i can go with the free alternative that everybody is flashing on to their handsets with windows mobile anyway.

and to take me out here’s balmers thoughts on android

Good news everyone I just got a scoop from an (unmentionable source: is that a word). HTC ‘high tech computers‘ has developed its own gphone. Its not surprising but just great that we’re able to confirm this. All I’ve got for specs is the fact that its got a 3mp camera and its a 3g device. As i get more details I’ll post it Hopefully an image will follow suit soon. Though i’m sure the big boys in the game such as gizmodo and endgadget will beat me to it.

A side note: I”m praying that the xda-developers are working on ports of android to previous htc handsets to the Gphones release. Also will androids requirements make it possible for any smartphone to run it or will that be the responsibility of the genius mobile os porter.

After watching this I know that the pirate bay is certainly screwed. Before I’ld say bleh they’re in sweeden their safe. But to come on tv and say that shit. He’s crazy. What kinda Rum do they got stocked on their ship.  Anyway feast ye eyes up on this.

So We all know that Microsoft bidded on yahoo a couple days ago in an attempt to pull a merger of the two entities. Microsoft However was denied the pleasures of gaining on google’s web based strides via the acquisition as yahoo rejected. Now this morning I’m over at My Blog Log you know looking around and what do i notice. I notice that yahoo has acquired my blog log as they now offer yahoo id logins and sport one of those yahoo family member badges

Now the acquisition apparently took place in 2007 according to techcrunch, However today is the first i’m seeing the yahoo id login option So it wasn’t apparent to me. Quite interesting As I have a theory that Yahoo is trying to bulk up in hopes for Microsoft to make them a more fattening offer.

Uhhh not much of an upgrade it is to be honest. However I likey what is included. Threaded messages, carrasel menu navigation and a task bar are among the things it comes with. My main excitement is the threaded sms view. I’m sure its possible to install an app to manage your sms which would give some similar kind of flexibility. However I’ld much rather the app to be a core app that doesn’t feel third party like all java applications feel (love opera mini but hate the thrid party feel cant wait for skyfire).

There is already an unofficial version floating around the web for the htc mogul and the htc hermes (qtek 9600). I’m contemplating taking the plundge of experimentation.. but I’m very hesitant. If any one has actually tried flashing their handset to the htc 6.1 shadow rom let us know how it works.

Bill Gets up and feels kinda snackish What does he do, He orders up some yahoo. Not just a serving He wants the whole thing. The whole she bang all 44.6 Billion worth of it. the company is to be sold in cash and stocks. Will Yahoo do it?

The real question In my opinion is Should Yahoo do it? I mean really take a look at it asset for asset on the webmarket. What does microsoft have thats better than yahoo.

• Yahoo’s Email platform is better,  its been that way for years.
• Yahoo’s search was the initial search until Google pwned that devision of the web industry. What is a Microsoft search worth. not my bandwidth thats what.
• Yahoo Java Game rooms are solid. Yahoo pool is the shiznit i will pwn you if you play me. ph34r my l33t gaming skilliusm.

At the end of the day i figure Its gonna be the stock holders who make the decision to sell. If enough votes are in for the option to sell then It could happen. But i think yahoo just needs to focus on their “focus” and they would be better off keeping the company from the grip of the evil Microsoft empire.

Probably something that’ll get mobile handset application of the year. Easily. Skyfire is a web browser, which doesn’t limit your to mobile sites but allows you to browse desktop rendered websites as well. Which isn’t anything that ground breaking as this has been happening for years now.

If it was just the desktop browsing then i wouldn’t be writing about sky fire right? Thats right Skyfire takes the desktop browsing on a mobile handset a bit further. It allows flash execution / rendering, java processing and so on. What does this mean in english? it means youtube from your cell phone via the browser. It means google maps on your cell phone via the browser and not a dedicated app which would take up space for youtube only. and another for google maps only. 1 browser to bridge everything.

I would assume they are using the webkit engine as the base of the browser. How they allow for flash and java processing I’m not as yet certain.

They’re currently doing private beta testing to sign up head over to skyfire beta signup. Sadly You’ve gotta have a us phone number to get in which blows Cauase i’m in the tropics but i do meet the other requirements.. anyway if its available to you sign up get it and comment so i can know how it really handles the web.
