Every game head should know about this store ‘str8games‘ [ pronounced ’str-eight’ games ]. They’re located in liguanea upstairs in Village Plaza accross from burger king. They got really reasonable prices and offer some neat deals and game trading. They’ll also purchase old games from you and so on. Saw them at an expo on saturday the put on a really good show and was among the most impressive of the booths. I saw the first supernintendo in about i dunno 5 years or more. Had to play, and sadly i got my assed kicked on killer instinct by falgore.

After visiting all the booths I eventually ended up back at the str8games booth and no it wasn’t because of the women they just had the best vibe going.

I like the idea of trying to push the gaming scene in jamaica, Hope there can be combined effort from the other major players in this market to take us where we need to be. But before you can get their str8games. You must and i emphasize MUST make a better website!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The current one is horrid distasteful and extremely hard to look at but its all a work in progress and I’m sure you’ll get to it eventually. Just dont’ take too long.

My answer to this WHO THE HELL CARES. Really now. instead of fixing issues like your processing power which clearly isn’t enough to push the games ya’ll making, or fixing the stupid joy stick which breaks on almost every psp i’ve come in contact with thus far. No you made it…. lighter. What a Joy.

The Nintendo Ds did not beat the Sony Playstation Portable because it was a lighter consoles. It had games that people enjoyed and offered a feel of gaming that no other hand held had given before (never have there been the use of a stylus with a hand held console). Making it lighter and Giving it 3 new colors Really Doesn’t do anything for your on the battle field of trying to win consumers.

Firstly lets just throw it out now that in the war between the PSP and the DS I am on the DS side ^_^, but things just got a little more interesting recently when a group of coders chewed through a loophole in the PSP’s firmware using one of it’s most popular titles Lumines. Now no downgrading is necessary and games can be homebrewed and played on PSPs right up the latest firmware version.

Shadowrun and Halo 2 - the first champions of Windows Vista gaming - have already been cracked by ‘warez’ and hacking groups, with patches enabling both to function on Windows XP available.

Both games have been released as Vista exclusives in recent weeks, introducing an Xbox Live-style service to PC gamers.

The news that the games will run on XP won’t come as much of a surprise to close observers after Falling Leaf Systems boldly claimed in May that it planned to offer compatibility software for both games “within a few months”.

At the time, CEO Brian Thomason wrote: “First [Microsoft] claim that it was impossible to implement DirectX 10 compatibility atop Windows XP, and now they also want us to believe that they couldn’t successfully launch two DirectX 9 based titles on XP either. We plan to expose both theories as patently false.”

Nintendo has surprased sony in market value. Its about time if you ask me. The ps3 is powered by really expensive technology that people simply might not be able to afford at the moment. The blue ray diode for the reading the devices pricces are falling due to massive output by china factories but never the less it is still expensive as compared the alternative media uses by the other consoles Nintendo’s wii and Microsoft’s xbox 360. The ps3 is currently a spectacular failure if you ask me. The world simply isn’t ready for it yet. They wanted to be advanced like the xbox was in its time but sony over did it and went too far ahead. Next time don’t make an ID 10 T move, wait till the technology prices get relatively affordable. if only paris hilton and them peeps can buy the console your screwed.

It seems manhunt2 has stirred up quite a bit of commotion in the Game world.

Officials from both Sony and Nintendo have confirmed that Manhunt 2 will not be approved for release on the PlayStation 2, PSP or Wii in North America in its current form – with both console manufacturer’s restating their policy that they do not allow AO (adults only) rated games on their systems.

It was revealed on Tuesday that the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) had given Manhunt 2 an AO rating, despite comments from Rockstar Games that an M (mature) rating was more appropriate.

Most U.S. retailers, including Best Buy, GameStop and Wal-Mart, refuse to stock AO rated games as a matter of policy – the only recent exception being Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which was retroactively given the rating following the “Hot Coffee” incident.

I”m not affected because i don’t play much games of the Psychotic Thriller, suspense genre “I like to kick ass”. But what of the fans of those games. Thats unfair. If the game is AO [adult only] rated enforce store clerks to not sell to underage kids. Make parents aware of the implications it could have on their little kids. Let them do what they should be doing in the first place PARENTING. In any event those game developers are screwed they gonna have to rely on online sales for this one. And i don’t see them not feeling the pain of loss because when you ain’t in stores you lose sales its not like a final fantasy where if they placed it in the Seattle tower and locked the building people would display spartan valor and climb that giant for a chance to get a copy. Wish the game developers the best.

As if Video game prices aren’t steep enough Now we got Halo 3 Hardware. Sadly There isn’t a gun just a custom edition halo 3 controller for the spartan and for the aliens as well as a Spartan Edition Headset (this i like alot). If My Geek money wasn’t booked I’ld probably buy the controllers and the headset oh and an xbox 360. However its not that important to me. Here are images of the peripherals. The Games getting all the publicity it deserves there’s even a halo 3 zune.

I’ve played the beta and i can imagine and expect that it will get better. Maybe we’ll see the spartan suit for sale soon

So the halo 3 beta expired yesterday if all stayed on schedule. However i was just thinking about it. Suppose the halo3 beta was a decoy. Which while being ran tested your xbox to see if it was modded? which would eventually lead to you being banned from xbox live. Its a crazy thought but it is possible and it would be genuis if you ask me. Because halo3 beta was the highest played game for the past few weeks I”m sure of it. People probably went out and bought a copy of crack down so they could play halo 3 beta.

Well heres how.

Before I continue though, please do remember that u stand the chance of bricking your psp so please be careful as to what it is you are doing.

Now lets continue.
Note that for this to work you would have had to mod your psp, so far I know this works with the 1.5 mod.

- Go into rec. mode by pressing R button when turning on your PSP
- Connect your USB cable
- Go into Advanced Options > Toggle Flash0 to USB
- Go into vsh\resource and paste the downloaded topmenu_plugin.rco there
- Be sure to make a backup

Now this tutorial is for the icons, note however that the same principle can be used for changing the start up screen, just look for opening_plugin.rco in the same resource folder, I think some other files may have to be added, uncertain though.

Before I forget, if you decide to search for these files, u can try searching for PSP xmb files, you’ll get sites like this one: XMB Evolve a really nice site
Finally a word to the wise, the .rco file your going to use has to be customized for the firmware installed on your psp, so if you have a psp with a 3.4 firmware version, make sure that the .rco file is for 3.4, anything else and you stand the chance of bricking.

Sony’s PSP has received a new 3.5 firmware update, Now you can remotely connet to your ps3 (with version 1.8 firmware) and access files via your psp. Music, Videos, Images and i wonder if the modders like the legendary dark-alex will figure out a way to play psp games via a ps3 hardrive remotely. The the possibility of this exploit makes alot of sense to me. 

So anyway a fast enough internet connection and you can access your ps3 (yes it must be turned on you goof) potentially anywhere in the world. Good feature sony. Too bad not enough people own ps3’s as they must sell their soul to afford one at roughly $600.
