I do not get overwhelmed often, suffice to say I am as jaded as they come. This anime has me breathless. I am a huge fan of the Samurai-Warrior culture, and as one who has read the Go Rin No sho, and practices the techniques handed down, in spirit if not in man killing technique, I am all over this anime like lolcats on Cheezburgers.

The plot..to even begin to tell you would be a waste, this shit rawks on so many levels it is not funny. It is horrifically violent, the characters are human and flawed, and you, if you are true, will realise the layers and layers of the samurai warrior society and the fuckery that a word, or a glance can cause for generations.

The pacing is slow as fuck, the intro is like one and a half minutes, but there is at least one, “HOLD THE FUCK UP, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!”, session per episode. I promise you.

The first time you see the Kugan Ryuu technique used, you will shit yourself.

Salivate bitches..

Listen, when your sensai asks a question, don’t be a smartass:
Punishing an errant disciple

One sentence, said to shame a peerless warrior, result in man life a lost without cause…

Hidden Kogun-Ryuu

Flow…
Unmatched Skill

I was on my way out when I saw the seven-step-prayer technique…….BUMBO RAAAAAAS CLLAAAT…RASS RASS….

Jamaica is definitely emerging on the e-commerce scene. On the 5th of April 2008 There was an event held called Emerge (click for event details). It featured Jamaica’s best web applications along with some other booths that weren’t necessarily web related (but could be if you think about it). It was a great networking opportunity and extremely good for promotion purposes as quite a few media people passed through. Among my happiest moment of the entire expo is hearing about paymasters move to online payment processing. Genius and should have been done along time ago. But i will not be the dark person that complains even when the item of desire is delivered. Kudos to paymaster on that move (praise is deserved) Ncb can go and die with their merchant accounts for all i care as its super difficult to acquire one as a little guy in the business-scape of Jamaica / the Caribbean / world.

For the geek i think the booth of choice to stop by would have definitely been FennTech they had the super sized plasma tv’s hooked up to pc for your gaming pleasure. They had a lot of ipod accessories and pc accessories and gave away a lot of cool swag (free stuff that people love receiving at expos). After seeing those plasmas in action I’m contemplating ebaying one of those bad boys imagine my pc hooked up to a 42″ or more screen.. Jeez *faints*.

For the event seeker events.in876.com was the booth to be at, to basically orient ones self with the most diversified event listing website available. With the most feature rich and social oriented approach to make the user feel comfortable with using the product. events.in876.com launched version 2.0 of their product at the Emerge Expo, it was well received by the patrons.

The food lovers would have found them self over by Cb chicken who had food for tasting (not sure why they were there.. but if they pushing for e-commerce with chicken orders i guess they have a legitimate reason). Also indulge another food company was present.

Audio was up in the place showing off their roadster and the new audi A6 which you’ve gotta be filthy rich.. like if cut you bleed money to kinda rich to buy one.

There were quite a few booths there but I was representing so i didn’t venture alot. But overall the vibe at the expo was great and i think anyone could have enjoyed it techhead , geek, audiophile, gamer or just a simple person. For those interested in photos there are a few photos on my profile at events.in876.com feel free to check em out

Talking about android this morning got me wondering. What will those people really do next. While talking to a friend he blurted out Consoles. Wouldn’t that be something. Gbox anybody? I felt a bit idle and tried modifying the existing generation consoles to be G stuff but I suck at photoshop so..

Gstation

Yeah.. thats how it is, at leasts thats what the voice from the shadows said. This november there should be futuristic technology in all tmobile shops. The htc make of android will be released around the holiday season. Its not gonna be easy for android to break into the market in my opinion. It certainly does have alot of hype surrounding it but thats never enough. So far with the videos we’ve seen you can tell that the browsing experiences is truely amazing seeing that they’ve utilized webkit (same thing thats on the iphone). Thing is How will android (the brand new baby os in the market) stand up to the windows mobile giant. We’ve seen balmer say he’s not afraid, and the symbian guys aren’t impressed either. How will the android handset sales figures look in comparison to Windows mobile handset sales at any tmobile store that carries both. I wish android the best of luck. The geeksphere is expanding but I’m not sure its big enough to propel it to number 1 as quickly as the Iphone did.

Also a quick little extra Tmobile should have 3G data services up and running by the android release as well So That’ll be really sweet.

And last thing. What i hope will happen is the number of windows mobile handsets that get converted to android handset will escalate. and the hardware vendors will think.. Why the hell am I paying licensing for windows mobile when i can go with the free alternative that everybody is flashing on to their handsets with windows mobile anyway.

Goo Google.. God i’m such a fan boy *embarrased*

and to take me out here’s balmers thoughts on android

Why has no one integrated google maps as yet. like seriously wtf. If i buy something and i’m tracking with ups for instance and i check my gmail do you know what genius google does… to the top right they put “Track ups” with the number, all linked and ready to go Less typing for me the end user. Now thats thinking about your users.

What you need to do now is use Google maps to display the to and from points based on the packages current location and the destination. Seriously the technology is there PLEASE USE IT. Make your users more comfortable it’s never a bad idea. Step it up.

Good news everyone I just got a scoop from an (unmentionable source: is that a word). HTC ‘high tech computers‘ has developed its own gphone. Its not surprising but just great that we’re able to confirm this. All I’ve got for specs is the fact that its got a 3mp camera and its a 3g device. As i get more details I’ll post it Hopefully an image will follow suit soon. Though i’m sure the big boys in the game such as gizmodo and endgadget will beat me to it.

A side note: I”m praying that the xda-developers are working on ports of android to previous htc handsets to the Gphones release. Also will androids requirements make it possible for any smartphone to run it or will that be the responsibility of the genius mobile os porter.

Look on this thing move? smooth screen transitions and on just a 300mhz hand held. I wonder how it would run on a htc tytn, kaiser or better yet an iphone. Todays software stacks treat quake like the new doom [ portable and playable on anything with a screen and buttons ]. See android kick ass

I must say I’ve been using rss for years but now i’ve taken it to a whole new level. I’ve had pocket pc’s for years now, using them for all sorts of productivity, emails, im on the go and even blogging. Yet I’ve never thought of putting an rss client on my pocket pc to keep me up to date with my news, blogs and podcasts. A bigger plus is with the podcast i can listen to the podcast on said pocket pc. I’ve recently installed a rom on my htc which came with a Rss agregator and man its just been awesome. I’m just ontop of all the news. on the hour every hour updates pulled to my handset. If your a person that just likes to be in the “know” you should definitely try this out.

The better of the rss aggregators I’ve seen is Vigo. However I use Rsshub because it was already on my pocket pc.

After watching this I know that the pirate bay is certainly screwed. Before I’ld say bleh they’re in sweeden their safe. But to come on tv and say that shit. He’s crazy. What kinda Rum do they got stocked on their ship.  Anyway feast ye eyes up on this.

It’ll be a bad day when the pirate bay is sunken with davy jones, however I’m sure that if it goes under It’ll rise again like davy jone’s ship, or another version of the pirate bay will begin eventually. Its the web. Nothing ever dies apparently.

raon-everun-umpc-for-korean-01062007.jpgUMPC’s the talk for mobile computing in 2008. Hp has started talking about the lifestyle enhancing umpc device which they plan to introduce to the market. OQO now has the e2 on sale for about $900 usd which is pretty impressive if you ask me. cuz thats all the power of a desktop in your hands or in your jacket (well if your jacket has big pockets). Do you think the umpc will become a need to have accessory? Will it begin to integrate mobile telephony and be the ultimate computational and comunicational Device. Most of all, of the entities delivering umpc’s to the market who’ll be the first to get it right and dominate the market. Asus has attempted to offer what seems to be the cheapest umpc to date the Asus eee pc which retails for an amazing $200. Even I with my extremely tight budget might be able to afford.

When will they get to jamaica :’( ( i woe for my country from a technological stand point.. truely i do)

Heres the best umpc resource I know. They are very well read and have quite an amazing umpc information repository

Till my next post.
